As I am reminiscing summer, I can’t help but think back to when it all started and how privileged I was to be able to experience SHAD Canada in July 2024. For those who may not be familiar with the program, Shad is a month long, steam focused summer camp, and I had the pleasure of attending at the Western campus. This program was an opportunity to immerse myself in such an environment, surrounded by talented peers and mentors. It has left me with deep inspiration even now, so far into the new academic school year. It was such an honour working with like minded people while having the opportunity to experience a range of different perspectives and approaches to thinking. I enjoyed every moment of collaborating on the design project, especially taking on challenging scenarios and facing it head on. This year’s design project theme was focusing on developing innovative solutions for green, affordable technology. The experience not only broadened my understanding of sustainable design but also deepened my appreciation for collaborative innovation. I will be forever grateful for the people that I met at Shad and how it has made a positive impact on my life.
