The John Locke Global Essay Competition is a fun annual writing competition that I took part in this year. For participants, you are required to submit a research paper based on one of the many prompts they provide. The competition includes multiple categories, including psychology, history, economics, and more! This year, the prompt I chose was “What is Self Deceit?”, and it was very fun and insightful to research the topic in depth! The announcement of who is shortlisted will be in August, but even if you don’t win any prizes, the experience itself is an amazing opportunity to do some independent research and practice writing. As someone who loves the humanities, I found the John Locke competition very interesting and fun!
